In today’s digital age, imagery has never been more important. A well-constructed and stunning photograph can attract the attention of a customer in an instant whilst simultaneously communicating a strong brand message. As a professional photographer, my role is to achieve this for you. By understanding your marketing needs, I’m able to produce the perfect shots to ensure your brand has the visual impact it deserves.
Since setting up my graphic design business in 2006, I’ve always had a keen interest in photography. Imagery is key to successful design and advertising campaigns and I’d had great expereicne working with photographers and sourcing imagery from stock libraries. However, during my time working and living in Verbier, Switzerland between 2008-2014, I decided to work on adding photography to my skill set.
Due to my alpine surrounding in Switerland, I cut my teeth in professional photography working as an action sports photographer. It was a truly incredible time of my life and the experience provided me with a superb grounding in photography. Lugging heavy kit around a mountain whilst working in extreme weather conditions (often way below zero degrees Celsius) and attempting to capture fast moving skiers and mountain bikers was a challenge I thrived on. The pinnacle of my early career came when I was assigned as one of only four staff photographers on the prestigious Freeride World Tour (FWT) – an extreme ski and snowboard event. As well as covering the action on the mountain, my work for the FWT also included portraiture work and capturing behind-the-scenes stills of the event. I too wrote regularly for Verbier Life magazine where I would photography and interview professional and up and coming athletes based around the region.
Having moved back to Bath in 2014, I now combine my photography skills with my long-standing background in graphic design. By fusing the two skills together, I seek to create stunning imagery that is shot for purpose specifically for a client’s web or print advertising needs.
My photography and been published by publications including National Geographic, BBC Wildlife Magazine, The Telegraph and L’Equipe. Success has also been in achieved in international competitions including being placed 3rd in Food Photographer of the Year 2015 and shortlisted both in 2014 and 2015 in Travel Photographer of the Year. Perhaps my most surreal moment was selling a piece to Sir Richard Branson – an occasion I’ll never forget. I am recognised as an Associate (ARPS) of The Royal Photographic Society and actively assist their distinctions team at their head-quarters in Bath.
