Tornado Automotive are a classic Amercian car restoration company. Owned by Mike Sargeant, engineering excellence is the hallmark of everything Mike does and in 2014 the business moved into a new fully equipped workshop in High Wycombe. This was to mark the beginning of a complete new re-brand for Tornado.
With such stunning cars to show off, it was clear from the outset that photography would play an integral part in highlighting Tornado Automotive. A 2-day shoot was first organised in Scotland where I captured 3 of the cars both statically and moving. A further 1-day shoot was then conducted at the new workshop to focus on the facilities available and Mike’s skill set. These shots were then used as the building blocks for the new mobile friendly website which is highly image driven and continually updated by Mike’s Instagram account that feeds directly into the site.
The 50’s inspired logo was created as a nod to the original American scene and this was then fabricated out of black powder coated steel to adorn both the outside and inside of the workshop. Window and doorsill stickers were also created for Mike to authentically badge completed cars with.
Additional shots from the photo shoot were printed up in large format and can be found displayed in the meeting and showroom of the building.
Work for Tornado Automotive continues with additional photoshoots as and when restored cars are completed as well as the continual management and upkeep of the brand.
“I can’t begin to express how pleased I am with all the work Phil produced for Tornado. The branding was exactly what I was after and his photography skills captured the cars and my work perfectly. The creation of the new website now provides me with an online brand that truly reflects the business and one that I am proud to promote to my customers.”
