Portraits of Ed Jackson and Olly Barkley for Bath Life

14 October 2019

Earlier this month I was delighted to meet and photograph Ed Jackson and Olly Barkley on behalf of Bath Life magazine. With a background in sports photography and having taken portraits of many athletes, Bath Life approached me to see if I’d be keen to help out on their article which they were putting together to help support and promote Ed Jackson and Olly Barkley’s new venture – M2M Presents.

It’s certainly an aspiring story. In 2017, Ed was suddenly left paralysed after diving into a swimming pool. Fast forward two years and after being told he’d never walk again, Ed and Olly, both ex Bath Rugby players, have setup M2M Presents with Ed shortly planning to climb Mera Peak (6476m) in the Himalayas on 18th October 2019.

Although I only had 45 minutes or so to capture the pair it was a real pleasure meeting them both. The location Bath Life had selected was the Holburne Museum in Bath and we managed to catch a few casual shots both in the cafe and museum grounds.
