As a professional property photographer, I’m often provided with opportunities to shoot some beautiful high value properties in the Bath and Bristol area. Non though quite compare to the Swiss chalet I was fortunate enough to photograph earlier in June in Switzerland.
Situated in the ski resort of Verbier, the 5-story privately owned ski chalet sits in the heart of the village with unspoilt views over the surrounding mountains. The chalet has been exquisitely finished and features a luxury spa, cinema/games room and separate guest floor. It was a true pleasure to photograph the property and a lovely opportunity to revisit where I once lived for 6 years (see more about my background).
Following winning the Fujifilm Award for Innovation, Fujifilm kindly lent me their medium-format GFX 50R camera and GF 23mm f/4 lens to shoot the property. The GFX range from Fujifilm offers a simply incredible image quality and was the perfect companion to capture high detail interior shots of the chalet. With such large rooms and beautiful textures, the resolving power of the GFX50R coupled with their legendary Fujinon glass allowed me to resolve the details in each room perfectly whilst retaining almost perfect in-camera colours. Using the tilting touch sensitive screen on the back of the GFX50R allowed me to select focus easily with the enhanced zoom feature a real pleasure to use when pin-pointing focus areas. All images were shot with their wide angle 23mm f/4 lens, featuring perfect sharpness throughout the entire frame and making for an ideal interior and property lens.
A selection of shots from the shoot can be seen above which were taken over a morning shooting the property. As a privately-owned chalet, I’ve respectfully not shown all pictures that were shot on behalf of my client (i.e. bedrooms and specific location shots). However, further examples of my luxury property work can be seen in my property photography portfolio.
