Marion Walker image featured on BBC ‘In Pictures’

09 July 2016

For those of you that use the BBC News App, you’ll be aware of their In Pictures feature. Each week the BBC ask their readers to send in images based on a set theme and a selection are then published each Thursday on their In Pictures page. This week’s theme was ‘handmade’ and I thought it’d be apt to send in some shots that I took from when I worked with Marion Walker.

Marion is a truly talented artist who produces contemporary handmade ceramic bowls and jugs from her studio near Oxford. For over 25 years, Marion has been taking inspiration from the changing texture, colour and movement in the landscapes that surround her and uses oxides and glazes to achieve a spontaneous and individual finish to her pieces. Clearly the BBC likes her work as much as I do as they chose to publish one of the shots I took of her forming a bowl on her spinning wheel.

To read all about the project with Marion, which involved creating her branding and website as well as a two photoshoots, please see her project page on my website.

If you’re interested in hiring me for a photographic shoot or require branding or web related work, please see my how I work page for more info or feel free to get in touch for a chat.
